I think birthday cards are the cards we need the most, every single month there is a Birthday. For my part, May is the busiest month with no less than 4 birthdays! (5 if we count mine 😉 ). This gives me plenty of occasions to innovate and try new things.
This card was really special for me as it was for Suppenhuhn’s, who introduced me to card making. I did not want to disappoint her. The most important for me is that I had a lot of fun to create this one and I used my favourite technique which is embossing.
I cut the dotted background using Fiskars scissors, my aim was trying to achieve cloud-like cut. Indeed, the balloons were going up in the air and we all know that Luxembourg’s sky is most of the time cloudy.
I fussy cut the stamped images and coloured with chameleon pens and twin touch pens. I had a more funky version with a pig with turquoise foot (well, suppenhuhn is a big fan of shoes so that would have been a wink) but ended up using the more demure version.
A little bit of glossy accents to fix the twine in place and give the impression the balloons are lifting the sentiment.
And the finish touch, the embossing of the sentiment. I love this colour as it gives a nice holographic touch in the blue to black tints. One of my favorite.
