(Bear)thday card

Trying new techniques can lead to big fail or big wahou. As we say, if you don’t try, you can’t fail. I am still learning with each card I am making and I do not regret that I tried the no-line colouring.

This is not an easy one as you have to really intensify the shading and seeing the result, I could have done more of it.

I used a normal cardbase and then made a background using the patterned paper pack from My favorite things (from which I have nearly the full collection, am I addicted?). This card was made for my now-husband and wanted to make it as masculine as I could, hence the blue.

My favorite things Paper pad 6″  Dots&Stripes Fresh

Shinhan Twin Touch markers

My favorite things Birdie Brown Birthday Bears Clear Stamps

Wow! embossing powder vintage peacock

Tim Holtz distress ink antique linen

Tip 1

Choose carefully the ink pad for the stamping because you want to make sure it will work well with the alcohol marker and won’t show up neither.
Tip 2

Do not hesitate to insist with the shading. In my opinion I did not work enough on it. Something to improve with the next card.
